The Balancer Audiobook

Why it got left at the gas station:

• This book isn't a traditional romance. It's a culmination of the entire series plus a romance. Probably 50% action and adventure, 50% romance. Some people wish I didn't spend so much time on the adventure.
• Same issues as the rest of the series. Plus, because book 3 is so compelling and the characters are so beloved, it was hard to follow that up in this book.

Why this book could still be your favorite child:

• We get to see all the characters from the series and witness them discovering the truth about the magic (and how to save the world).
• The ending to this book is truly a piece of my soul. I love it deeply, and it's completely unique.
• Aedra is fiercely protective of her daughter. If you love a strong, damaged, female lead, you'll love this one.

Life story:

Aedra’s refuge is her curse.

After a brutal attack leaves her pregnant with a mixed-blood child, Aedra flees the laws of the Balancer enclave to protect her daughter, Fina. For years she’s built a quiet life in hiding—until the magic that once held their realm together vanishes, and vengeance rises in its place.

When Brion, a Blessing Giver sent to quell the unrest, appears on her doorstep, Aedra’s world fractures. Guided by Paladin, he’s sworn to restore peace, but the moment he sees Fina, a mirror of his dead brother, his loyalty begins to unravel.

Aedra swore she’d never love another member of the Order. But when she’s offered a chance to keep her bloodline secret and secure peace for her daughter, Aedra must choose:

Protect the ones she loves through lies…or risk everything for a love she was never meant to claim.
